Sunrise/Sunset?

Hi again, another fab afternoon of stampin and blogging, I am making the most of it, because I will soon be back at work. The following card has been in my head forever, it is one of the reasons I bought 'Lovely as a Tree' and only today has it been created (took a while getting all the right gear) we have seen and made similar cards at Leonie's Workshops (will learn how to make that light up so you can connect to her blog). I love sunsets and this is what I have tried to create but I think it is more like a sunrise.

Firstly I Versamarked the stamp then used Night of Navy and the heat tool, which doesn't show up too much in the photo (will try again in daylight tomorrow) then used So Saffron, Summer Sun, Only Orange, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence (had to get some shade of purple in LOL), then Night of Navy, Bordering Blue, Ballet Blue & Brocade Blue for the Sky, finally Always Artichoke and Old Olive for the grass, this was done using sponges. Used Bright Orange and Night of Navy for the card stock, maybe I should have used Always Artichoke but wanted something Bright. Open to any suggestions on how to better this, from you experts out there.

Rosanna and Morgan are having another Xmas card making session and some real creative effort is being made as they want them to go on the blog, looks like I have more competition, may even have to set them up a blog of their own.

Thanks again for looking, take care and happy crafting X:)

  1. Hi Annette,
What a lovely card. I don't have this set, so now I know 2 people I can steal it from. He He.

  2. Looks fantastic! One way to get a really cool edge when you are sponging is to create a mask, best thing to use are the yellow sticky notes, you tear the edge then stick it to your card and sponge along it, then when you change color, create another mask. THere are some great examples on Michhele Zindorfs blog, her link is on my blog, but I have to say, smashing effort!
