Inky Lili's Birthday Cake with Candles and flowers lol!

Hi all,

First I would love to welcome my new followers, hopefully I have popped round, commented and followed you, though one or two of you I couldn't find a blog address, so please let me know so I can pay you a visit.

Now time for another Inky Challenge and our gorgeous Inkette Sandie set the challenge this fortnight to use Die Cuts, now for sometime I have wanted to make one of these fancy easel cards lol!  Can't remember where I first seen one (could have been Merry) but, saved this link to a tutorial, check them out , there are many STUNNING creations.

I have used the gorgeous 'Lili's Birthday Cake' image and 'Make a Wish' sentiment available here coloured with Copics, Spica Glitter and added Special Effects and Glimmer Mist.  My icing skills need a little more practice using the pearl pen lol!

Now I wanted to have flowers as this card is for a very special friend, who was our neighbour, when we bought our house together in England (her and DH have been out twice to visit us) she will be 70 in May and does flower demonstrations, those who have followed me for sometime know I struggle with flowers, so I got DH's opinion and he didn't like the flowers, he thought the blue too big and the brown didn't go and I was brave sending to someone who knows what to do with flowers lol!  Now I like them, wanted to add a little more green but the leaves didn't look right, maybe some twirly green bits.  But please tell me what you think, I would love you to be HONEST!
This is the card laying flat, I have added kindyglitz all around the edges

With the candles in the box

This is the card before I added the flowers and more icing lol!
SO WITH OR WITHOUT FLOWERS

WOO HOO Intermediate Copic Certification, Blog Makeover and new Mad for Marker Challenge and news

Hi all

Hope you are all well, FIRST A HUGE THANKYOU TO SAMMI!!  My gorgeous talented DT buddy and boss, revamped my blog, as you know I am a little technically challenged with computers, so chuffed with what she had done, PURPLICIOUSX:)

Had an AMAZING day yesterday with the talented Mandi-Lee, was very lucky to do Intermediate Copic Certification with 19 other ladies, the first Intermediate course in Australia WOO HOO and we had a fantastic day, which flew by way, way to fast!!!  Mandi-Lee is an AMAZING teacher, she makes everything so understandable!  You can visualise what she is saying, then you get to have a practice and voila there it is in ink on paper!!
Now how special, a PURPLE Certificate with a matching purple badge!!!  Do you think they know how much I like Purple lol!

Forgot to take my camera, so Johnny (from X-Press Graph-X Supplies) their blog here, took this with my mobile phone, looked o.k. when small, just a little blurry when blown up, but I think you get the gist of it lol!

Hopefully I am allowed to show you this as I am so chuffed with it, many of you know I do not have an art background, can't draw to save my life but, always loved colouring and have been inspired to learn by seeing all you talented bunch in blogland.
Some of what we were taught was, Shading, Shadows, Cast Shadows, colour, skin tones and this is my first face where I have managed to create the impression that a nose is there as well as shadows in the right places.  Is is almost like she is looking right at you.  She isn't quite finished yet, but I am so chuffed with her, think I might have said that already lol!

What we learnt at Standard Certification was a fantastic, but this course took colouring to another level for me, so can't wait to practice, my head is buzzing at the moment lol!  As is Edward's after listening to me waffle on last night lol!  We received a manual for future reference as well as a goodie bag.

This is my certificate from The Project Certification I took earlier this month, more info found here on my post dated 15th March.

Mandi-Lee and Kathy have more courses scheduled, you can find a list of dates and link to register on their Copic Oz blog as well as a fun challenge each month.

Now this is the tag I made at the project class, left it till today to promote LALA Land Craft Stamps are now available at Sammi's Mad for Markers along with TGF stamps.

Our new Mad for Markers Challenge started yesterday and we challenge you to use Copic Colours from the following Colour Families YR, RV and BG, we can't wait to see you colourful creations.

Inky Impressions Monochromatic Challenge

Hi all, the Inkettes this week challenge you to a 'Monochromatic Challenge' to use shades of one colour, now I have slightly misunderstood and thought the whole image/creation, everything had to be coloured in that shade!  So poor Lili is looking a little green, I now know for next time lol!  I have used the cute 'Bundled Up Lili' image available here.

Normally I would chose purple, but DH had a birthday yesterday and green is his fav colour so made him this gift tag as I already had his card made, which is definately green lol!  Kept it fairly plain as I thought flowers may make it too girly, though Rosanna assured me it was already girly looking!  He is in for an Inky Birthday as he has the 'Angelica Hearts Socks' easel card I made for his card lol!

A closer look at the special effects, the heart charm available from Inky Impressions Store I coloured green with my Copic, as well as the eyelet and ribbon, I still think she is still gorgeous!

Don't forget to pop over to the Challenge blog and see what gorgeous monochromatic eye candy the DT have for you.

Mad for Markers, Copic Project Class, Debbie's Gorgeous Candy, Surfing and Garden

Hi all, rather than do lots of posts, I have combined everything in one, so you can chose what to read or skip lol!

FIRST I would like to wish Edward HAPPY BIRTHDAY for today, we are both wondering where the years are going lol!

On Sunday 27th Feb I attended the Copic Project Certification Class here in Melbourne and what fun did we have whilst going over some techniques we knew and learning new ones.  Here are a some of the things I we did.

How cute is this LaLa Land Crafts Panda Image, now available from Sammi's Mad for Markers Store along with 12 others in stock, if you would like another LaLa Land image that isn't listed, please just ask Sammi and she will do her best to look after you.

First we made this gorgeous card using thirteen different techniques (sorry forgot the name of the image, new to me, but if anyone wants to know I will find out)

we coloured him on tissue paper, then ironed him onto the candle, our example used grey colours

but we were encouraged to do whatever colour we liked so had a go at a purple panda lol!
The ribbon supplied was purple too!

We also coloured onto fabric using another cute LaLa Land Craft Image, as you can see it did run slightly but still pleased with the results.

Then last week I was so lucky to win this gorgeous blog candy goodies off the beautiful Debbie, now most of you will know Debbie and how amazing her colouring and creations are, but if not pop on over there and take a peak.  Can't wait to play!  Definately going to be something girly with all those gorgeous ribbons, flowers and stamps.

Also last week I was given this award, for my Inky Side/Twisted Easel card

On Saturday took Rosanna and Morgan to Anglesea and hired a couple of surf boards for them, Morgan managed to stand up three times, they did have fun, this is only the second time, must get back there soon, they are keen to have a lesson.

Just sitting on top of the waves lol!

Morgan nearly there

Just a little moat building with Seaweed, Sand and Water

Finally an update on the garden
those that have seen previous garden posts will know we had a go at growing grass, which was successful this time at the back right of the garden so on 3rd Feb we seeded the other side of the garden, then on 5th Feb it rained!!

But as you can see it didn't entirely wash all the grass seed away and some has started to grow (along with many weeds).  The black blob is Charlotte, Rosanna's bunny, Poppy is away to left just missed having here pic taken.  They get to roam free, sometimes, but we do need to be kept an eye on as they are rather partial to some of my plants!

Now don't forget Mad for Markers will be at Paperific on 1-3 April - with the full range of Ciao and Sketch markers as well as THE April release of The Greeting Farm stamps including the NEW Creeper kit!

I shall be there, along with Sammi and her DH, Tracey from the DT and other blogging buddies, we sure would love you to pop by and say hi!

Don't forget our Copic colouring brown challenge over at Mad for Markers.

Finally my beautiful blogging buddy Angela has THREE AMAZING candies on her blog this is a photo of the first candy, the others are in my sidebar.

Thank you for visiting, happy crafting, take careX:)

As you can see I have been AWOL from blogging and had some family/garden time, back to work tomorrow but shall see you all soon in blog landX:)
