Guest Designer Challenge at Doodle Palace

Hi all, Oh boy can't tell you how excited I am, here is what I created for my Guest Designer Post at Doodle Palace this week. This is my First Easel Card placed on top of my first four drawer box, also new for me Yes my FIRST GT position!! Oh perhaps I mentioned that LOL! So I thought NEW was appropriate for the challenge, you can also use a NEW technique, use something NEW or NEW born baby theme, entirely up to you, I have used the USS Ark Digi Image created by Dee, it is coloured using my touchmarkers/copics, I paper toled the duck, giraffe and sheep, not too clear in the photo but the heart dsp is behind the giraffe dsp, so there is a row of hearts all round.
I have stitched around the edges, embellishments, flowers, flower brads are from my stash. The rhinestone brads and ribbon are Stampin Up. I found a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers by Beate Johns, then discovered this talented lady Kirsten for the four drawer box, not to blow my own trumpet but fairly pleased with how this turned out, not easy when not using purple LOL! Just lately everything has been Pink. Our friends daughter is expecting a baby any day now, so hopefully I have guessed right or I shall be back to making a blue card LOL.

Tried to get a side view

My Inky Impressions Mingle card for Angela

Hi all, first apologies for the pictures, had to take tonight as I am working tomorrow and wanted to post this to Angela, whom I met through Yahoo Inky Impressions Group, you should check it out there are some wonderful creations. It has been a while since I have inked my Inky Girls up (a little distracted with Digital Images). This is Fairy Lili (one of my favourates), I have used touchmarkers to colour, kindyglitz on her wings and hair ties and special effects on her eyes. I have stitched in various places but was not brave enough to stitch the image on, maybe another time. Have pleated (I think) then stitched the ribbon down the middle.
Also distressed the edges and sponged around the image

This is the inside, stamps from Stampin Up Sets

All card stock, dsp and ribbon - Stampin Up

The crochet flower was made by Alison, picked these up from Stamp Camp, must find out how to make them, bought the crochet hook and thread, a challenge for another day.

Second Easel Card - Baby Boy

Hi all, tried to schedule this post, but couldn't figure out how (dim wit me) so will try another time as I was just playing. I will be showing a couple around our coaster campervan tonight so(keep your fingers crossed we sell). Our neighbours had a little boy yesterday and they have named him Zac, so whipped this up today, now for those that follow will think where was the first easel card, can't show you yet, but had so much fun had to make another, could not believe how easy they are to do. The image is from Doodle Palace, just adorable. I have used my favourate colouring medium Touch Markers and my only two copics (all say or poor thing) LOL! There is special effects on the tyres, elephants trunk, the birdy and eyes, also on some of the polka dots, just not too clear.
Distressed and sponged around the image, brads in the corners. All the dsp and ribbon were in my scrap box, sentiment from my stash.
Cardstock Stampin Up Baja Breeze.
Side view, some of the special effects shows a little, just noticed top corner, note to self to place sticky tape nearer the edge LOL!

A Toucan of My Love

Hi all, just look at this Toucan isn't he just cheeky looking, I got this as one of my prizes from Doodle Palace, pop over and see what fantastic doodles Dee and Robin have in their store, when I saw him, just had to have him, hubby loves Toucans. The challenge was pet themed, flowers, glitter, hearts and rhinestones for a Valentine, just realised when loading pictures no glitter, sorry! I have taken the pet theme to mean animal/bird, so hope thats o.k. Not to sure on my colouring of the Toucan not an easy task.

Here's a close up I have used special effects on his eye and upper beak, didn't have too many heart and flower rhinestones so used what I had and then made up with the other flowers (don't what they are called, just in my stash, I used 3d kindyglitz for the centre of the flowers and managed to smudge one! Don't think hubby will notice. Used green fluffy ribbon for the handle and threaded red hearts on and made the sentiment. Then filled with hubbies fav treat Raffaello (he calls them coconut jobbies) bit like ferrero rochers but, white chocolate and coconut. Don't know what to call the goodie holder just made it up by wrapping dsp around a square base. Tried to create a rainforest background and the flowers are imitation orchids LOL!
Challenges
Doodle Palace - Pet valentine project, flowers, glitter, hearts and rhinestones
SG2 Challenge - Anything but a Card with a twist for Valentine
This is also another entry for Tuesday Taggers - Tag it with Birds

Flirty Edward

Hi all, had a little time to play later this afternoon, when my idea came together for the Anya Ink Challenge - one layer card, well got to say that is not so easy, after using layers, ribbons, embellishments for so many other challenges this is back to where we all started, (or definately me). Anyway I now own my first Digital Image from The Greeting Farm - Flirty Edward, hubby laughed I had to get him to save it after I had downloaded it. The shaped card was created using my Creative Memories Heart Cutting system, I then used my CM heart punches for the smaller hearts, masked Edward and the hearts, sponged using Lavender Lace and Lovely Lilac, was trying to create a night time feel with hearts for stars. Tried to give him a greyish colour to his face and more human colour to the body, not really sure if the effect is right, not an easy one!
Then masked the inside to get this effect.
Challenges
Anya Ink - One Layer Card
LaLa Land Weekly Wednesday Challenge #21 - Shaped Card
Alphabet Challenge - L is for Lilac
The Easycraft Project Challenge #4 - Lavender

Hope you are all have a fantastic weeked, thanks for looking, happy crafting, take careX:)

Fantastic News Guest DT for a week & Challenges

Hi all, Finally come down off the ceiling, one of my ambitions this year is try and achieve a DT position (got 11.5 months), not an easy achievement considering all that fantastic talent out there. Anyway Doodle Palace have asked me to be Guest Designer in a couple of weeks (my card won their challenge random.org). Then at work took a sneek peak at my blog and found I have 35 talented followers a following little old me, so you can imagine the grin on my face, Morgan said he didn't know I could skip!! LOL!! Anyway enough waffle.
This card has been created with one or two challenges in mind and has been possible because of my lovely friend Debbie P at stamp camp we exchanged swaps (she has one awesome collection of Magnolias) and she let us all have the use of her cuttlebug inc embossing folders and cutters, so needless to say I am topped up with Snowflakes until I get my own, which hopefully won't be too long. Thanks Debbie.
Materials used

Touchmarker/copics to colour (still practicing)

3D Kindyglitz puff white then coated in powder fluff for the trims,
Then I had to go to the craft shop to buy something new (what a shame LOL) so I bought 3D Kindyglitz GLT Lilac for her wings, also bought Crackle accents, which you will see my disaster at the end, also bought some chipboard birds to colour like a robin, then found the Magnolia bird, possible could be a duck, but it's Christmas and he is in fancy dress as a robin LOL! As you English people will know there are often Robins around when it is snowing.

Special effects for her cheeks and boots

Magnolia DSP Papers - Kellie's Magnolia Store

Ribbon and tag Kaisercraft
brad, threads - my stash

Now for the tricky bit, I cut around her thumb on her mitten so I could place the thread under so it looks like she is holding it

I have torn in various places and stitched it up as a repair, also knotted the potential rope as a repair too, so hopefully this should qualify for Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge seeing as my tag was a disaster.

I have turned this card into an 84th Birthday card for our children's Great Aunty Nan (on Edward's side) in England, as some of you will know they are very much covered in snow, so she looks like to be having a snowy birthday. This is the inside of the card, this special lady has certainly lived, laughed and loved, we definately miss her, she reminds me so much of my very late nana.

My First Machine Stitched Card

Hi all, what a busy day today, gardened, cleaned and got the washing dry in minutes due to the heat we are having hear in OZ. So thought time to play so wanted to have a go at stitching a card always love the effect I have seen on others peoples creations, so sits at the machine and realise I don't have a stitch that makes crosses, so played around and this is what I came up with. Oh and look girls no PURPLE! Have entered this in K L Stampin Challenge, Pink, Black and a Neutral (I choose White). I have Kindyglitz all the holly and the fluffy lace trim and used Special Effects on the snowglobe, bells and berries.
Also new to me I have decorated the inside pages and used my Crop A Dile, now I know I need a little more practice with the stitching but on the quiet I am quite pleased with the card, as black is not a colour I would choose to use and have used it twice now!
All paper/cardstock are Stampin Up, which I am sure most of you will know I have resigned in October as I didn't wish to sign the new agreement, very disappointed! Image is from MO's Digital the crochet flower I got when I was at stamp camp from the lovely Alison, another thing I am going to have a go at LOL, got the thread and the crochet hook, just need to mess.
Challenges Entered

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #35 - to the right
Mo's Digital Challenge #13 - Birthday - (forgot to write Happy Birthday inside)
Cute Card Thursday #94- Create a card using something new
JUGS #15 - A technique Challenge - Add Stitching to your project
Crazy 4 Challenges #19 - Birthday Theme
KL Stampin #2 - Pink Black and Neutral
I am interpreting that love didn't necessarily mean your beau, made this in mind for my daughter's birthday (starting early), so hopefully haven't broken any rules.
Finally girls you remember that lovely craft desk hubby got me, still trying to set it up, but someone has taken over, the pretence being to spend more time at home with his family over the hols he brought his main computer from work home that has his drawing package on. So I am still working at the dining table LOL!

Got to dash hubby gone for the Indian Takeaway, he will only frown if I am still on here LOL!

Many thanks for looking, happy crafting, wishing you all a fantastic 2010, take care AnnetteX:)

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #29

Hi all, never got time to post this challenge for Magnolia Down Under Challenge #29 - Stamp with another use, over Christmas, lucky it doesn't finish till 17th January. Not sure what this lovely image was for in the begining so hopefully using it for anniversary has changed it's use. Had so much fun creating these icing ornaments, this one was for hubby for our 13th Wedding Anniversay (27th Dec), got the original idea out of the New Magnolia Ink Magazine available in Kellie's store. Have used dazzling diamonds and the little hard balls for decorating cakes (not such a good idea as they have cracked). Stickles and my favourate heart brads and the gorgeous ribbon from Spotlight. Just a little tricky creating the purple colouring for the icing, had to go back to the basics with my primary colours that got the brain ticking over LOL!

Thanks for looking, happy crafting, take careX:)

Finally a card

Hi all, Hope you all have a fantastic New Year, can't believe a month has gone by since posting a card, we had a fantastic time with our visitors, quite a house full, forgot how full on it can be. House is cleaned, paperwork mostly done, so had time to play last night, unfortunately, my mojo seems to have disappeared! Won't tell you how long this card took and still not happy! Just seems to lack something! So wanted to enter this weeks Anya Ink Challenge as my friend is this weeks Guest Designer Emma and Fran is Guest Designer for the month, so Congratulations girls what a fantastic way to start the New Year!
Challenge to use Black and White and one colour of choice, so just had to choose PURPLE! Secondly was SG2 Challenges to use this sketch and so lucky just managed to squeeze it into a few more listed below:

Firstly I coloured in my image, which I stamped off the lovely Debbie P, used special effects and glitter as shown. Then I used my new Zing! Embossing Powder - Lavender to create the hearts on the background, then using CM heart patterns to create the layered heart, sponging the white heart and using my fave purple stickles, then used one of my favourate brads - purple hearts, sadly the last one so must source some more. Then for the first time I used my Kasiercraft Rhinestones. Cardstock all Stampin Up Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace, Basic Black and Whisper White.

Anya Ink Challenge - Black and White plus one
Crafty Creations Challenge #49, - Black and White with a Splash of Colour
The Corosive Challenge #45 - Use two of your favourate things
Hope too get round and visit some of you soon, so had blog withdrawal systems, can't wait to see what you have all been up to. Must go busy weekend ahead.
Thanks for looking, happy crafting, take care, AnnetteX:)
