Sea Shell Easel Card with Mermaid Anya and Mer Ian

Hi all, where does time go, don't know if it is just because I am getting older, I didn't think it was possible but this year is going by way faster than last year lol! Spent the weekend in the neglected garden, then worked and went to Morgan's Musical Concert last night, some very talented children it was lovely listening to them playing their individual instruments and solo and duet singers. Morgan is in the choir and is loving it! It really brings a smile to my face when I hear him singing away to himself (practising his notes).

Anyway this card is created for a lovely friend who loves water, she played water polo for many years (couldn't find a water polo digi), and loves the beach so I thought of Mer Ian (digi) then a quick visit to my TGF addict Emma borrowed Mermaid Anya (don't think there are too many she hasn't got), now those who visit me know I looove Easel cards and do try and find a different shape to make so today we have a Sea Shell (hope you all can recognise it! It did try to colour a sea background but I need lots more practice so I cheated and used some dsp I had. Which I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Marshmallow, which I got yesterday (there is a wonderful craft shop up at Bacchus Marsh, so got a pass out from work a little earlier so I could visit before the concert) hehe. Just added the finishing touches nicely.

Both merpeople are feather blended which is our challenge over at Mad for Markers, you have until 30th May to enter, Sammi is giving a set of ciao markers to the winner, we would love to see your creations. It really is a gorgeous technique and Sammi has a tutorial for you to.

I decided to use Champagne stickles on Ian and used kindyglitz on both of the images, pink embellishments in Anya's hair. Distressed all the edges of the card, though difficult to see on the base. I left my sandpaper at work, but managed to find some sand in my craft cupboard, don't ask! I really don't like throwing anything away. The sea shells and charms etc are from my stash.

Copic Colours used: (available from Sammi here in Australia)

Hi all, just a quick post as I have another to do which should have been done yesterday, but time got away on me. The two images on release this week (tomorrow) are Birthday Sheep and Birthday Chicken, so I decided to have the chicken coming out of the box, 'birthday surprise', I coloured them using copics. Next week will be my last week as a Doodle Palace Princess.

Here is a close up, just gone over a little with the red lol! But this is really small lol!

Please visit the other Doodle Palace Princesses tomorrow to see their wonderful creations.

Doodle Palace sneak peak Birthday Cow

Hi all, the latest new release at Doodle Palace is 'Birthday Cow' and 'Marshmallows and Hotdogs', I have to show you 'Birthday Cow' and thought they would be perfect on party straws to take away as gifts (one of my other addictions is Tupperware and the pink straws are Whistling Straws I bought a while back, they are fantastic and they go through the dishwasher!) So we have a pink, blue and of course a Purple decorated straw! The sparkly purple straw is a normal straw, Rosanna said we needed one on a ordinary straw too!
These cuties are coloured using my copics available from Sammi at Mad for Markers.

Now we made a Milkshake (seemed only appropriate), does it look a little purple lol! Can't say how fast I had to take this photo as R & E were eager to drink!! He He!!

Our challenge this week is to 3d your image, (layering or popping it up), so if you come and join us over at the palace, there are always two winners who get to choose two digital images from the Doodle Palace Store. Please come visit the palace tomorrow to see what the other Doodle Palace Princesses have created.

Could only find one one Challenge out of the challenges I normally try to enter and that is

Today is the second day of our 'Feather Blending Challenge over at Mad for Markers, I finally got Penny coloured up (she is available from my DT sister Tracey), isn't she just gorgeous! She really lends herself to lots of blending. She is of course coloured using copics which are available from Sammi, who also has a tutorial on feather blending here. Just to show you how versatile these copics are I coloured the pearl embellishment on the small flower. Used my MS butterfly punch for the butterfly with pearl embellishments and kindyglitz. Originally I cut blue to the sunflower shape and didn't like it I felt this looks like a blue sky background.
A close up of Penny, used special effects for her beautiful eyes.

Hi all, hubby didn't need me at work today, so I have had a little time to play YEH!!

So out came the Sweet Peas, (ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection sheet 14 #plate43). I love these girls but am slightly intimidated when it comes to colouring them, but as they say practice makes perfect (hopefully, eventually lol), and of course she is coloured using my copics.

Finally got to us my MS Butterfly border punch, soooo loooove these punches. Sentiment is from Sweet Pea Stamps too (link in sidebar).
The butterfly is sparkly, just doesn't show in photo.

Had a few challenges in mind and couldn't decide on a layout, when I read Randi's blog and came across Kaitlyn's sketch which closes soon, so hopefully I make it.

Emma has also got a challenge going with some wonderful prizes so if you have time please try and support her and take part.
Not that this is anything to do with it but had many enjoyable stays/wanderings around Yorkshire, beautiful place, especially loved the Shambles in York and the castle.
