Rosanna's Inky Dressing Table for our Mad for Markers Challenge

Hi all

We have a new challenge over at Mad for Markers and we challenge you to make anything but a card.

I have had this idea in my head to make a dressing table every since I made my first four drawer easel card, DH thinks I'm barmy lol!  Now those experts out there will see it isn't perfect, I can never get all the drawers the same but nonetheless I am chuffed to pieces with it and Rosanna loves it!

I have used my some of my favourate stamps from Inky Impressions, Inky Girls Angelica and Lili, they remind me so much of Rosanna, she is a daydreamer and loves her bunnies Poppy and Charlotte.  Didn't have a charm key so this is from my jewellery box which Rosanna and Morgan love peak in and find out the history of all the treasures stored there.

I have created a double sided swivel mirror using lollipop sticks and a kebab stick with wooden beads for the ends, (all coloured with copics) as well as some of the flowers and ribbon.  This is Lili on the other side.

Have used brass ornate looking beads for feet and SU brad rhinestones for handles

I have used SU So Swirly Wheel and heat embossed using lilac to create the pattern over the dressing table.  This is a back view.

A bud vase I made gluing two beads together, all flowers are from Bizzy Becs

A closer look at Lili, used pink rhinestones to add a little more bling, was very brave and used my Glimmermist Dazzling Diamonds on both girls and did end up with a few blotches, but they do have a love shimmer

There is no white on this project, I coloured the background with C00.  Also used my blender pen 0 for the first to time in my colouring, (only use it normally to correct my mistakes lol)

Here is a closer look at Angelica, used special effects on both girls for eyes, headband and shoes, added kindyglitz to the flowers and butterflies.

Garden Update Phases 2, 3 & 4

Hi all, this is one of the reasons I haven't had much time for crafting.  A few blogging buddies have asked I post some pics so here they are.  Raining here again, my little fella went to camp surfing I am sure he was going to be as wet out of the water than in, just got a text saying they are returning early to school, poor things, he was so excited.

This was the garden 13/10/08 after the rain, which is a little bit of a problem lol!  We had tried growing grass on the left of the garden, with a border of natives down the side, fruit trees at the back and right side and magnolias down the middle.

Sept/Oct 10, phase 2 the path completed for now will continue round in one of the next phases lol!
Now phase 4, here is DH in action, we, (yes we DW turn her turn too lol) had to pick all this area as the ground is clay, we put gypsum and watered from our tanks to try and help.  Can you see Rusty taking it easy on the trampoline lol!

Hired a rotavator and added 5 ute loads of top soil,

then 6 or 7 utes of scoria, this has purple rock as well as the red and grey and planted up with mostly natives, will post more pictures when they are much bigger (hopefully)

This is phase 3, yes this is another attempt at grass, this side of the green mesh is our patch of our England Garden, I have a border with daffodils, gladiolas, blue bells, pansies etc, still got to finish planting it up.

Just love these smiley faced pansies
Hardenberger, Purple Wanderer to grow up the green trellis.  There is also a white one two

Pig Face Gold
 Pig Face Orange

Kangaroo Paw, we have six varieties, the native birds love them, this is the biggest, the rest we bought smaller

Here is one of our little visitors on a kangaroo paw, had to be quick to get this, they fly around so quickly lol!

Our first lemon, we have three oranges nearly grown too

 Almonds

I call these lilies sorry don't know there full name but they are beautiful

Off to work now, hope you are all well and have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for visiting, happy crafting, take careX:)

Pink and Pearly over at the Cowgirl Up Ranch

Howdy all,

This is a quick post as we have our visitors this weekend, we have had a Fantastic time showing them round, catching up and they had their first BBQ in OZ.  Hope you all having a wonderful weekend.

The Cowgirls challenge you this week to make a creation using pearls, the colour pink with a little purple or green.  I have used CJ's image Emlee, pictured her in my head, with dark hair and darkish skin tone, this is the first time I have done either of these!   Not sure I had got it right, but growing on me and hubby says its good.  Also a first for the dolley (thank you Sammi who sent me a lovely package of coloured ones using her compressor).  The pearls were originally ivory and I coloured them with my copic V17.  Glitter card for the base of the card.

Our sponsors this week is the talented Paula from Pollycraft Stores who will be giving the winner a voucher to the value of $10.00 to spend in the store.

The Top Three will be given an image of choice from our CJ.

Don't forget to stop by and take a peek at the other Cowgirls gorgeous creations.

Spooky Spesch Bookmark for Mad for Markers and HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY ROSANNAX:)

Hi all, first I just have to wish my little big girl lol HAPPY THIRTEEN BIRTHDAY ROSANNA!  She has so been looking forward to being a teen (practising too lol!)  She loves pancakes so I am on pancake duty tonight!  With many different fillings followed by chocolate cake.  We are going to go out and celebrate properly when granny comes over as she is going to be 86 on the 11th).

Now back to crafting and continuing our colour any digi image with Copics Challenge over at Mad for Markers, I have used one of the new release images called 'Halloween" just love this pumpkin outfit..  I have made another  lovely corner bookmark, this one is for my sister, sorry but there will be some more make fantastic gifts to send overseas.

Have not put too many embellishments as I think these could damage the pages of the book when shut.  The bat is ribbon, really love purple and orange together.

This is what the bookmark looks like on a book The purple ribbon is from Bizzy Becs.

Tried to show the spica sparkles on the pumpkin, cane, cute boots and bow.

Don't forget we are sponsored by our lovely DT member Tracey who owns Spesch Stamps!  The winner will receive a $10 voucher to spend in her store.  Stunning entries so far keep them coming!

Halloween over at the Cowgirl Up Ranch

Hi all

Hope you are all well, sorry been AWOL for a few days but my little (big girl) girl turns 13 on Tuesday, so we had to have the teen haircut which is gorgeous (pic soon) and six of them went to the movies to watch Cats and Dogs 3D and to lunch for pizza and chips.  In between we have been working hard in the garden, so excited got part of our path in last week and working on the next area, 4 cubic meters of top soil, pick axe, tank water (to soften the ground its like clay), gymsum, hired rotovator and 3 cubic meters of stone (still need 2-3 more cubic meters) and lots of mostly native plants. So definately built up the muscles lol!  Also got a little sunburnt!   We have our first visitors arriving on Friday, hence trying to get as much gardening done.  Then MIL arrives the following weekend for five weeks so we will celebrate her 86th and Rosanna's Birthday together.

Over at the Cowgirl ranch CJ has brought out a wonderful new release of Halloween Images, not celebrated too much over here (but we did in our village back in England) I was given 'Sick of Candy' thought is was a spelling mistake of the image at first (Stick of Candy), so warped humour kicked in and made a goody bag (or sick bag lol).  Coloured this cute image using copics.and punched out the ghosts and pumpkins using a CM punch and coloured them.  Sponged the background.  Added stickers I found in our local $2 shop.

A closer look, for the first time I used the technique 'adding texture with Copic Colourless Blender Solution' I was trying to get that sort of bumpy feel a pumpkin has, didn;t quite get what I had in mind (perhaps a little heavy handed with the solution).  Also was brave and coloured this cutie bear with a part green face to give the sick look.  Love those spider eyes peeking in.

Recyled Spooky Purple Bat Earrings

Our Challenge this week is open 'Anything Goes'.  The chosen winner this week will receive FOUR images of choice from CJ and Top 3 will receive TWO images of choice.  You really must go check out the other Cowgirl's Fantastic Creations using CJ's wonderful new creations.
