Chirstmas Challenges - Red & Green

Hi all, this could be my final challenge for this year, though Allsorts new challenge is Purple, so do need to create an anniversary card for hubby so will try to squeeze that one in before our visitors arrive. Then we will be off camping down the Great Ocean Road. Anyway enough waffle, so had this idea in my head for Inky Impressions Challenge to use an ornament in your creation. I found this wonderful idea in my Magnolia Ink 1 magazine, many years ago they used icing sugar, egg white and a few drops of lemon to make their ornaments for the tree. A little solid for a snowflake but didn't think it would hold together with spaces and not too sure my piping skills are upto it lol!We (Rosanna (my not so little helper, same height as me and only 12 and I) decided to add some dazzling diamonds to add a little sparkle, struggled with this card trying to keep to Red and Green, but did just manage to sneek a little purple in there lol. The ribbon says Merry Christmas and the ornament can be removed from the card to hang on the tree.
The metallic cardstock is from my stash (from many years ago), have used 'So Jolly' Magnolia for the background available from Kellie's Magnolia Store.
These are the challenges I have entered:

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #27 - Christmas Decoration/Card

Stampin Sisters in Christ #15 - to have a gift on your card/creation

STAMP CAMP - Laughter, fun and some creating

Hi all, just a quick post to show you some photos of the girls having lots a fun, we just had such a fantastic weekend, lots of laughter, sharing, fun, talking, glitter oh and lots of crafting and not too much sleep.
Below (in the middle) is Yvonne (Campbell Creations) who organises our stamp camp a big, big, thank you to youX:) You have helped create many new wonderful friendships. Her sister Danushi (hope that is spelt right), Rosanna so loved the photos of the animals and says thankyou, and to the left Gabbie (one of my newbie friends) was too busy concentrating on her favourate image, The Fornasetti Face, to look up.
The girls decided to put on a pose for this one!
and finally these are the swaps we made, bet you can't guess which one I made LOL!
I managed to part make Christmas cards which need finishing off and got my fix of embossing and stamping, hopefully to last to next stamp camp thanks Debbie oh mustn't forget the lessons on using nesties either, much appreciated, the cuttlebug is on the wish list.
Might not be too many posts for the rest of this year, really busy at work and our visitors land next week, but will try and visit you all when I have time, off to catch up on the washing, ironing, cleaning etc, like all of you girls, oh except the ones that are doing Gold Class to watch New Moon, hope you all have a fantastic night.
Also we had our 4th anniversary of being here in Oz today (29th) what a fantastic way to celebrate with crafting friends and then pizza and fizzy wine with my family, nice ending to a fantastic weekend.

Thanks for looking, happy crafting, take careX:)

Santa has arrived early, LUCKY ME, YIPPEE

Hi all, just a quick post, look what hubby bought me for Christmas, he found it on ebay, how lucky am I! Unfortunately when he went to pick it up a leg had been snapped off and more scratched than advertised, anyway clever boy had some strong epoxy and has managed to glue the leg back in place in a fashion. It also opens up so I can have a friend or two to craft.

Edward had been saying what a nuisance when working at the dining table as having to put stuff away when it was meals time (on the quiet I think he got fed up eating his meals surrounded by craft LOL). Must go, really should be going to work but got to make a swap for stamp camp which is tomorrow night and sort a pressie, thought I had loads of time, just to many distractions, just so want to get my new craft space loaded up ready to go!

Thought I would change the background to get in the Christmas Spirit and lost my counter, I was hoping to do a blog candy after so many hits I shall have to start again or just do one sometime next year.

Thanks for looking, happy crafting, take careX:)

p.s. will hopefully be back next week with some pics from stamp camp and creations if we don't do to much talking and drinking!

Anya Ink #7

Hi again, finally got this card made, had the idea all week, this is for Anya Ink #7, create a male card, had Rosanna and Morgan help with this one, they created the fifty for me on the computer, then coloured my Anya image courtesy of my friend Emma, used special effects for splashes of water and barely banana cardstock for the background with distressed edges. This is for my friends husband they have just been away celebrating, he went watersking while Julie read a book by the pool.
Again sorry for poor photography (blaming lateness of the night, nothing to do with my photography skills) lol.

Thanks for looking, happy crafting, take careX:)

Snow Many Challenges

Hi all, try to make this brief, firstly I heat embossed the snowflake onto Elegant Eggplant cardstock, which was to create your own masterboard/paper. Then I coloured in Holly the Fairy a digital image from Mo's Digital Shop, so love this image! She is coloured using a mixture of copics and markers, her wings are a mixture of special effects and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, special effects has been used on the bells and holly in her hair and on her dress, I also paper toled the lace on her dress. I then hand stitched round the edges and added little metal bells and beads. Then used various ribbons etc., just so love the snowball ribbon and the purple edged ribbon has a gorgeous sequins edge, finishing with a metal snowflake. All the edges on the cardstock have been distressed and I sponged the edges of the cardstock that has Holly on. Took loads of pics but really struggled with the light. Will see if I can improve on it tomorrow.

Now back to my stack of Christmas cards I have been making, oh and I must fit in some cleaning. Nice easy tea hubby is picking up an Indian Takeaway, mmmmmmmmm.

Thanks for looking, happy crafting, take careX:)

P.S. Holly is PURPLE and not BLUE, just couldn't get it to photo properly.

SSCC#13

Hi all the first of two quick posts, this card was for Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #13, to create a shadow box, my very first attempt, not sure if I have quite got it right. I have made it for my friend's son's 10th Birthday, the image is video boy from Mo's Digital Images I have tried to make it look like it is a T.V. with the boy appearing on the t.v.

Brody likes green so I got Morgan (my son) to repeat the image rotating it at different angles then we printed onto to A4 sheets of green paper and wrapped his pressie up with it.

Thanks for looking, happy crafting, take careX:)

Layton John Clever and Nine Challenges

Hi all again, yes this is my last post for today, had hoped to have it done sooner, but you know what it is like ladies, go pick up a child, hubby comes home from work and everyone wants feeding, so we had a lovely family meal, then we had lovely talks with friends from overseas in particular our friends that are coming for a holiday on the 10th Dec.

Anyway enough waffle here is the final challenge card for today. This card is inspired by many challenges (listed below) in particular Stampin Sisters of Christ and not a challenge but a fundraiser to help raise funds to find a vaccine for Meningitis, this has come about by the loss of Layton John Clever a 16 month old baby boy, whom lost his fight recently against this terrible disease. You can read more about it here. Mo and Jim Harker have both donated a digital image to help raise funds which cost 4 GBP, I have used Jim Harkers image below, sorry ran out of time to display Mo's but please visit my lovely friend Debbie P she has made a fantastic job of using both images a created two beautiful cards. These images are available for purchase here. Thank you to Mo and Jim!
Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #12 - to make a patriotic themed card for a soldier and as a bonus donate to Operation Write Home more details here. Unfortunately this card is slightly too big need to be 5.5" x 4.25" but didn't look right (will make a smaller one and the Kindiglitz didn' flake). I created the card in the earlier post with this in mind and am going to send it along with some more I hope to get made tomorrow.
Down to the card, just love making these shaker cards, not the neatest about but, I am improving!! Sorry for the bad pictures but took tonight I ran out of daylight, can you believe it! I just had to try and show you it was Purple not Blue! I have versamarked my SU snowflake stamp then embossed with white powder (looks better for real).

Have used Kindyglitz for effect, coloured using my touchmarkers and SU markers, I am so loving my new markers I have four Copics now! The effect is spoilt a little by the fun flock.

Challenges

K L Stampin N Scrapin - Snowflakes

Friday Sketches #78 - sketch to the right

Tuesday Taggers - No Patterned Paper

Allsorts Week 27 - for a child - card, gift, notebook, anything
La-La Land Crafts #12 - Die Cut and Punches

Rosanna wasn't so sure if the colouring was right for a childs card, so will try and make another for this challenge, as I wasn't too sure on the image but I do just adore snowmen as do children and thought they would love a shaker card. Do think he is kinda cute in his part uniform, so like men in uniform, so smart and proud looking, know what I mean or am I on my own here.
Phew thats the end, at the of Tom and Jerry it used to say "That's all Folks". He He

Many thanks for looking, happy crafting, enjoy the rest of your weekend, take careX:)
