My Last Post for Mad for Markers

Hi all

It is with sadness that I have stepped down from my DT positions, so this is my last post for Mad for Markers, I have been with Sammi for a year (where did it go), I have had a wonderful crafting journey, learnt so much and met some beautiful blogging buddies! Lucky enough to meet some in person when helping Sammi at Paperific.  I am sure gonna miss you girls!!!:(  You are an amazing talented bunch of crafters and lots of fun too!

They reason why:

For sometime now I have fancied having my own craft store and finally took the plunge and l am hoping to buy a craft business, I have never run a store before, so have much too learn and will be spending time with the owner learning as much as possible.  We will have to move house if all goes to plan so in trying to get the house and garden ready to sell, all the travelling, working for Edward, plus Rosanna and Morgan, I just don't have the time to fulfill my DT duties properly.  So keep your fingers crossed everything goes to plan. I will still be around in blog land (hopefully with a creation or two) if not just looking at the gorgeous creations you all make.

Onto our new challenge over at  Mad for Markers is colouring grey, now this was a challenge for me as I have never done this before, so here is my attempt I have used this image and sentiment from The Greeting Farm Set 'A Journey', which I thought was just perfect.  (This came in my blog candy stash from Debbie, thank you).  You do not have to colour all your image grey if you don't want, just use some grey copics somewhere on your creation, your papers don't have to be grey either, I think my mood was grey at the time, so everything was grey lol!

All papers are SU, distressed all the edges, image stamped on XPress Blending Card, the background was created dotting around the image with the grey copics.

Copics  C00, C01, C03, C5, C7 (never used so few copics before lol!)

We have some new members to the team and the lovely Bron will be filling my Tuesday post over at Mad for Markers so don't forget to stop by and see the wonderful inspiration each day from the DT.

Copics and Xpress It Blending Card as well as LaLa Land Stamps and The Greeting Farm Images are all available from Sammi over at the Mad for Markers Store.

Dinosaur Bag with Shrink Plastic Stars

Hi all,  where did the week go again!!!  Looks like this one is going to fly by as fast to!
We had a fun packed weekend, went to St Andrews Market and then on to Eltham to look at a press machine Saturday, then on Sunday I got to play and went to the Copic Project Certification in Melbourne, what fun we had, it was great to catch up with Mandi and some girls I had met at the Copic Standard Certification.

Now our challenge over at the Mad for Markers Challenge Blog is to create a Male Creation using some of your brown copics!  Now I have used Oliver (Sammi is now stocking The Greeting Farm Stamps) and made a Dinosaur Bag for Morgan's Dinosaurs, now I should have sort the dinosaurs out before I made the bag lol!  As they seemed to have grown!  So you could say it is a sleeping bag as a few heads will be popping out!

I have stamped the image onto the calico then coloured in with copics, for the writing, I wrote the outline with the mulitliner 0.3 then coloured in using various colours of brown copics, then stitched it up with my sewing machine.

The stars have been made using shrink plastic, which was coloured using E35, then used a CM star punch and the SU Crop a dile for the hole in the centre (ish).  Then used my heat gun to shrink them, this is the first time I have used shrink plastic and at the same time made some Inky embellishments too.  I had split the string, so I could thread it through the holes and used string for the tie at the top.

Copics

B21, 24, 91, 95

E000, 00, 13, 25, 31, 33, 35, 37, 47, 50, 99

My first Side Step Card for Christmas

Hi all, Continuing our 'non traditional Copic Colouring Christmas Creation Challenge over at Mad for Markers I finally had a go a making a side step card using the cute TGF snowmen, the tree is an SU stamp and I have used spicas to make it sparkle.  The sentiment is heat embossed.  I have used kindyglitz around the edges of the sentiment, on the snowmen and along the top edges of the steps.  Handmade snowflake and the pom pom is off some ribbon, I think it is a little big but it is stuck on now.

I sprayed the whole card with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer mist and it warped it a little but is sure does sparkle lol!

Mad for Markers Challenge going monthly

Hi all, our challenge this month, over at Mad for Markers is 'Colouring White' our talented DT member Kylie did a fantastic tutorial on Friday colouring Tilda images, gorgeous wedding images and a fun Mummy Edwin which you can find here, also here is a tutorial I did on colouring snow.
Originally had something else in mind when one of my blogging buddies Alicia, posted on Sunday night a challenge on her blog to make six cards in 1 hour, did sigh, more like 6 hours for one card lol. So got my TFG Keep Cozy set out and made these cute Xmas cards, actually took me 1hr 10mins, this is definately the fastest I have ever coloured with my copics! Stuck to three sets of colours and coloured images together, definately saved time. Won't say what a mess my work place was in, I normally tidy up as I go along lol! Got eleven Xmas cards made now.

Finally got to use my birthday pressies Snowflakes and Winter Trees Embossing folders
with my big shot

Isn't he just cute! I got to use my new razzleberry SU card, love this colour, I got a copic and ran it around the edges.

There is a lovely prize of a $10.00 voucher from our lovely boss lady Sammi to spend in her Mad for Markers Store.

Copics Used

B21, B24, B28, BG10, C00

Mad for Markers ATC Challenge, Birthday Cards and Gardening

Hi all, This is another schedule post, so hope it works, our challenge at Mad for Markers this fortnight is to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card) measuring 3.5" x 2.5", now don't be put off by the size, these are fun to make. This week I have used one of the Cheeky Girls (thanks Emma), thought I would enter Glitterbabe's Challenge again "Make It Sparkly", so I have added Gold Spica to her hair, Rosanna's Purple Groovy Chick glitter to the edges and Kindlyglitz to the rose and purple kaisercraft rhinestones (I think this has to be the most I have ever used on one card) I have used my new multiliner available from Sammi to draw in fishnet stockings. I am sorry I forgot to make a note of the colours I used.

This challenge is on till 10th July, don't forget to pop over to the Mad for Markers Blog each week day for some wonderful inspiration from the talented Mad for Markers DT. We thought we would have a little more fun this challenge and we are asking all entrants and DT to send in their ATC's to Sammi and she will swap them about and post back out to everyone and don't forget the winner gets to be Guest Designer for our next challenge. Looking forward to visiting and seeing your wonderful creations.

The complete copic range is available from Sammi at the Mad for Markers Store, delivering to Australia and New Zealand.

Now for some family stuff, for those that are interested. If not thanks for visiting, take careX:)

These are the birthday cards Rosanna and Morgan made for me

This is Morgan's card, he printed a sketch (hangman) he asked me if I got it and had to say I think so?!?!?! Not seen these charactors before.
This is the middle section

Rosanna made a cute fairy card that is layered/decoupage. Did make me laugh these two are making a card and I am meant to be making a card but I had to keep shutting my eyes so I couldn't see what they were doing lol!

This is a side view to show the layers. Don't forget I have celebration blog candy for those that are interested see here or top right of the side bar.

The following is gardening:

Heres hubby posing lol! We started a couple of weeks ago taking all the stone of the front (which we had only put down 18 months ago) but, we kept losing plants the only original is the lavender.

This is it all cleared of stone.

This is the heap of stones we shifted, which need to go back, I sure hope I lose some weight!!

This is after all the stone and weedmat was taken off. We then dug the ground over and dug little trenches down from the main plants, placed draining pipe in which connected to more draining pipe along the bottom, spread a full bag of gypsum all over (meant to help break down the clay) now hopefully when it rains the water will drain away and our poor plants won't die from rotton roots from being water bogged. Forgot to take pics of the 4 cubic metres of soil piled up at the front lol! We spread that out, then spread newspaper everywhere and put the stones back on top.

Finally back to where we started with a few extra plants, so keep your fingers crossed. Tthe little lavenders on the front are baby lavenders from the big lavender to the right.

This is the left over soil, a job for another weekend lol! The back is a much bigger ongoing project! Rusty does try to help by digging holes where he can to bury his bones lol!

The following three photos should have been posted in April, these are our little toms in a beautiful dish Rosanna made out of clay and decorated at school.

Just had to show you these PURPLE and Green Beans

and finally our rhubarb, which made a delicous crumble

Challenges
Glitterbabe's Challenge #1 - Make It Sparkly

If you made it this far hope we didn't bore you too much, have a wonderful day.

Thank you for visiting, hope you are well, happy crafting, take care, AnnetteX:)

Geisha Anya copic coloured Tissue Paper Lantern

Hi all, where did the week go, got a little distracted in the garden, this weekend, so sorry if I haven't got to visit you all, still catching up.

At Mad for Markers our challenge for this fortnight is to copic colour something else, other than paper/card or as well as (hope that makes sense lol), got me thinking what to do and decided to have a go on tissue paper, haven't seen this done yet, now this was fun lol! A little bit of trial and error and this is what I came up with. Over at Creatalicious this month their challenge is an asian theme and I really liked the idea of creating a tea light lantern.

Anya Ink want you to use buttons and bows, so sourced my button tin and found these little beauties.
This is the back of the lantern I have used colours V15, V17, FV2 and YR23 to try and create a gold colour effect. I did try some chinese writing but gave that one up, ink spread too much.

For the side panels I cut smaller oval shapes so the the main of the light would shine through the Geisha Anya panel. SU Cardstock is Orchid Opulence and YoYo Yellow.
The ribbons are from my stash, the flower ribbon around the base I used the YR23 marker and coloured the centres of the flowers.

This is the front again with the the tea light lit.

Don't forget to check the Mad for Markers Blog each day of the week during this challenge as our talented DT will be demonstrating other items that can be coloured with Copics, also check Kylie's tutorial for tips on colouring embellishments. There is a wonderful prize of $16 to spend in the Mad for Markers Store and the winner also gets to be Guest Designer for the next challenge, looking forward to seeing you there. Don't for Sammi is shipping Copics to New Zealand as well as Australia.
