Vintage Icing Decoration, Holiday Photos and Festive Wishes

Hi all, hope you are all well and not too stressed!!!

For my post this week over at the Mad for Markers Store Blog I have made a vintage icing decoration, I did have two but the star shape broke.  Hoping to fix it lol!!  When I get the chance.

I really struggled getting a good photo, but it definately sparkles from using the spicas!  I have used them on the outline of the images and to colour too!  Some of the embellishments were coloured with copics.

Copics and Spicas used

B28, BG10, BV08, C00, C1, RV66, YR12
Baby Blue, Black, Clear, Garnet, Lilac, Lavender, Lipstick, Melon, Olive, Pitch Black

You still have eight days to enter our current Mad for Markers Christmas Challenge we look forward to seeing your festive creations.

Challenges

Personal for those that are interested.

We took a break (9th-16th) and went to the high country and stayed near a place called Mansfield.  It was like a bigger version of the Lake District, we saw Kangaroos, Deer, Wallaby, Wombat, Yabby, Kookaburra, Long necked Turtle, three types of parrot and two types of Heron and this doesn’t include the zoo! Oh and I nearly forgot, Morgan got quite a scare from a Tiger snake.

The view from our accomodation at Liptelvin, pet friendly, so Rusty came away with us and even had his own accomodation which he shared with Ben his play buddy.

The fog on one side of Mount Buller (ski resort in the winter)

How awesome is this sculputered water melon!!

A wombat at night, on the road to the accomodation

A quick break on our 40k bike trek from Mansfield to Bonne Doon

Rosanna and Morgan horse riding

This was taken at the zoo

A long Necked Turtle, which we nearly run over, we rescued him/her and the children placed it in the creek

How fluffy are those clouds, took this one for inspiration when I have another practice at colouring clouds with my copics lol!

We had a wonderful family holiday (the first time we have had a chilling out one) Edward’s injury to his foot slowed him down some. (Accident at work a job jumped on his foot and just missed his safety shoe, so he ended up with 3 stitches across the top of his foot). Though we did manage a 40K bike ride, bike riding is a little easier on his foot. Rosanna and Morgan both went on a two hour horse ride and thoroughly enjoyed it! We keep saying we must do more of this!  Got to be one of our best family breaks. The views were breathtaking.  Came back and have worked since lol!  Still haven't got my Xmas Tree/Decs up yet, hopefully tonight.

Hope to catch up with you all soon

Wishing you all a magical Christmas and a fun and healthy 2012, take careX:)

Christmas Tree Keepsake Baubles/Decorations, Cards and Tags

Hi all, today I would like to show you some Keepsake Christmas baubles, one each for Rosanna and Morgan and one for us, one side has a coloured image and the other side is for a photo I hope to take on Christmas day.  This is a tradition each year I buy some Christmas decoration so when they leave home they will have a selection of goodies for their own trees.

This is a look at them before I put them in the plastic bauble as it was hard to get a photo without a reflection, you know what I mean lol!  They are coloured using copics available from Sammi over at the Mad for Markers Store.  You still have a day and a half to enter our Anything Goes Challenge here

I have glittered around the edges and here and there lol!

The background has been embossed, then distress inks and glimmermisted.  (These are the inserts from some window cards I have made.

just had to have a purple dressed snowman lol!

This is Santa inside the bauble, I have put the date on the top.  I am going to buy some flowersoft, as the sparkly fluff was too fine and give it a snowy ground.

The two snowmen (just had to have a purple one lol!)

Took a class with Jennifer McGuire on using distress ink and learnt quite a bit, this is my interpretation of her window card.  Added a few pearls on the embossed background.  The snowman is heat embossed and I added a little more colour with my copics.
After embossing and colouring I used sandpaper to take the colour off the top of the dots to make them white.
The glimmermist really adds a beautiful sparkle

Finally a couple of simple, sparkly gift tags

Challenges

Now onto making up twelve calenders with photos to send overseas, so guess I won't be getting up to mischief lol!
Thank you for stopping by, hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Happy Thanksgiving to those of you that celebrate, take careX:)

Warm Wishes Tia Non Traditional colour Christmas Card with Shrink Plastic Sentiment

Hi all, hope you are all well, running a little late, the camera was at work, took the card into work and couldn't find the cable to connect to the computer, so brought her back home again lol!  Today for my inspiration post over on the Mad for Markers Store Blog I have used the gorgeous Some Odd Girls Stamp 'Warm Wishes Tia'  set which comes with a cute penguin, sentiments and presents, now available from Sammi.  She is coloured with some of my new favourate copic colours.   Kindyglitz Glitter around the edges and in places on embossed background, which is metallic card.

A closer look at all the sparkle, she was also sprayed with glimmermist after I cut her out and glossy accents on eyes, bell and shoes.

Had a little play with the shrink plastic as I had an idea to make a tag/label using it and this is some of what I came up with, on the card I coloured the edge with Copic V09 and punched a hole for the twine.  Below are a few different variations, if you click on the photo, you can see the writing is very clear.  Need some different coloured inks pads now.

Papers are mainly Kasiercraft from the 'Dear Santa Collection'.  Sentiment SU 'Many Merry Messages'.

Purple Pumpkin Huge Giveaway, Bogey and Barbie Jelly (Jelly and Yoghourt) for you Stacie

Hi all

Just had to let you know about this Mother and Daughter blog I follow and have bought a few goodies from, but you do have to be quick lol!  They are having a huge giveaway of vouchers ($100's worth) to purchase goodies from their next sale on 18th November, here is a sample of some of the goodies they sell.

How cute are those buttons and so pretty are the doilies and flowers

Full details here

Now for a little fun, this post is for Stacie one of my blogging buddies.  Stacie posts about what she has been making each week and couple of weeks ago she posted about yoghourt cake which led me to telling her about yoghourt jelly.  She wanted the recipe, so had to make it as I don't usually measure it lol!  Edward's Aunty Nan introduced them to Bogey Jelly first (Lime and Natural Yoghourt), then Barbie Jelly (raspberry or strawberry with Yoghourt).  As you can image the kids loved it.

First dissolve the jelly using a cup and a half of boiling water (approx 300-320ml), varies with different jelllies, but do not add the extra cold water.

Then add approx two cups (500ml) of vanilla yoghourt

This is what it will like, but keep mixing I use the spoon but you could you a whisk

Will look like this, you will still have the odd small lump of yoghourt

This is the raspberry jelly

Place in the fridge for approx 4 hours and it sets, beautiful with fruit, ice-cream etc, it is really nice to have on a hot summers day, hope you give it a try, let me know what you think.

Now off to do more in the garden, will show some photos soon, really pleased witht the pavers/flags we laid, working on another path today so think of me shovelling stones off the ute lol!  Still haven't lost any weight:(
Thanks for stopping by, hope you are all well and happy crafting, enjoy the rest of your weekend, take careX:)

Zoe Celebrates Easel Card

Hi all, having a wettish weekend here, housework is done, so finally had time play and have another go at colouring a scene using Copics.  I have used the gorgeous image 'Zoe Celebrates' available from Make It Crafty.  I borrowed Morgan's jeans from the ironing pile and added some colourless blender and pressed on the jeans of the image to get a denim effect, also used an old pair of Rosanna's PJ's with the colourless blender and pressed in various places on the sky.

Did have trouble with the grass couldn't make my mind up what colour looked best so there is a little bit of everything in there lol!  Now DH says it is all too bright but I kinda like it.  Decided she looks very happy, like she has just won the races (Melbourne cup here in Oz this weekend).

The flowers are hand drawn using multiliners 0.3 green and 0.1 black.

The Happy Birthday chip board was sprayed with copics then clear spica added and then special effects.

The butterflies are from my MS border punch (these are the bits that should be thrown away but I am a hoarder lol) and then added liquid pearls for the body.  The rhinestones (bottom of the tulips) have been coloured using copic YG09.

The flower has been handmade using organza ribbon (think thats what you call it) with a rhinestone brad centre.

Papers Kaisercraft La-Di-Da and SU cardstock.   The cute tortoise ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.
