BLOG CANDY - MANY CELEBRATIONS

Hi all,

NOW CLOSED

Its celebration time here for many reasons, first reason it has been a whole year since I made my first post on my blog (29th), (how different my creations look now) in that time I have met some lovely ladies had a fantastic time at Stamp Camp, where I was lucky enough to meet some of my cyber friends. I have learnt so many new techniques (still learning), found copics (loooove them). Another reason is being on two wonderful DT's with a fantastic bunch of extremely talented and fun girls,! So loving my crafting journey which I am lucky to share with my children, got to admit though was a little reluctant to share my copics at first lol!
My next reason is to celebrate life, yes another birthday today, 21+22 years young again lol! Can remember when I was a teen thinking 40 was old, I certainly don't feel old, still young at heart it is just the mirror that tells me different, why did we have such a big one in the bathroom lol!
Rosanna and I thought we should have three candies, not just one big one and it had to be nice and bright, Rosanna selected and cut all the ribbon from my stash, so the ribbon varies in length lol! There is a variety of colour, the first candy has two gorgeous Sweet Pea Stamps ching-chou kuik's Blue Eyes and Lisa Victoria's Storytime along with three sentiments, SU Whimsical Words stamp Set, Various SU 6x6 DSP, Kaisercraft brads, rhinestones, pearls, droplets, silk & paper flowers, Tape Runner, Glue Dots plus some charms and flowers. Now not too much purple in their lol, had to buy two packets of the gorgeous brads and droplets lol!

Second Candy one In2Stamps SU dsp, ribbons, various flowers and some charms

and finally SU dsp, selection of ribbon, various flowers and some charms

All you need to do is help spread the word, by either placing in your candy bar section or if you wish by creating a post. Then leave a comment below.

Please only become a follower if you wish to follow, it is not a necessity to enter the candy, but I sure don't mind lol! I love when you visit and make me smile with your comments and hopefully I do the same when I visit you!

Winners will be chosen by random.org on the 30th July or it could be names in the hat and Rosanna and Morgan can pull them out. You do not need to number your comment. I will announce the winners on the blog asap after that date and you will have a week to send me your snail mail address.

Many thanks as always for stopping by and taking the time to comment, certainly makes my day, happy crafting, see you in cyber land and thank you for being part of this wonderful crafting journey, so loooooving it, take care, AnnetteX:)

ATC Challenge and Swap at Mad for Markers

Hi all, our challenge at Mad for Markers this fortnight is to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card) measuring 3.5" x 2.5", now don't be put off by the size, these are fun to make, just learn from my lesson, make sure your image fits on that size of card before you colour lol!

Now I have used Inky Impressions Lili's secret, coloured her with Copics, isn't she just cute look at her FRV1 (Flourescent Pink) coloured nails with a little special effects added (just a little fiddly lol). Also used special effects on those gorgeous blue eyes, shoes, hair band and flowers. Used Kindyglitz on these gorgeous flowers from Bizzy Becs, yes I have got flowers, what a tough decision to either use the blue or the pink in the end I put both on and then as you can see I got carried away with the kindyglitz so fairly sparkly lol! Just might of overdone it a little hehe, so not like me. Cut around the sentiment, distressed then sponged with Regal Rose.

Copic Colours used:

Face & Skin - E000, E00, R20, R22 & B26
Hair - E50, E51, E53 & Y26

Finally The Engineer

Hi all, hope you are all well, I have loved this image 'The Engineer" by Mo Manning every since I seen Debbie P use it (I think last year), I never knew my grandads but just imagined that one of them could have been this guy here, can't you just see the joy in his face! One of our customers is turning 40 at the end of the month we have become friends and he was saying how he would so love a train set (he feels he missed out when he was a kid lol, so big grin on my face, yeah straight home and bought this lovely image) he doesn't look as old as this guy lol but he sure looked happy thinking about trains.
As most of you know I do struggle with male cards, but I am fairly happy how this turned out, I did try flowers on the grass but just didn't look right, I did colour embossed holly to go up the sides that didn't look right either, so kept it plain. The happy birthday is embossed, then sponged and I added two metal brads to make it look like a sign.
I drew the rail track, it really needed a black outline (my multi liner is on its way from Sammi). Tried to give it a stoney effect using my copics.

I have used special effects over the front of the train to make it nice and shiny. It just so happens Angelo's favourate colour is PURPLE (and our birthdays are only one day apart!) So our engineer is coloured in using Copic (available from Mad for Markers) shades of purple (nearly had a purple train too).

Morgan and mine joint Pirate creation

Hi all, just a quick post, because my little girl is back from camp, busy having a shower (proper one lol). This is a joint effort card by Morgan and I for his friend James. Morgan drew the map which we had burnt with a match around the edges to try and make it look old. He also generated the compass using the computer (far more gifted than his mum in that area). The cute pirate is from Pollycraft which I coloured with my wonderful copics, available from Mad for Markers.
YO HO a Pirates life for Me (from Pirates of the Carribean) theme tune by George Burns

Inside the card I made a treasure chest which contained James treasure ($$$).

My two have finished school today, till the 13th July so we are hoping to do some family crafting and visit Kaisercraft. I do have a birthday coming up soonish around the time of my one year having a blog, where does the time go, so am putting together some goodies for a little celebration blog candy later in the month and the children are helping put this together, I am so excited, never done a blog candy before.

Lavender Bags

Hi all, hope you have all had a wonderful weekend, ours has been a long one, having a bank holiday Monday then Rosanna and Morgan had Friday off (teacher report writing day), so took a little break from blogging, but hope to catch up over the next couple of days. We have tried to catch up on some of the DIY jobs that we kept putting off and I had the lovely job of cleaning the oven, does anybody out there know of something that really works without having to use too much elbow grease lol! Got Rosanna all packed she is off to camp today for four days, Morgan's reckons the house will be a lot tidier without her lol! She was so excited, then they are both of for three weeks school hols. I really don't know where there first two terms have gone.

Continuing on with this fortnights challenge over at Mad for Markers, colouring with copics on something other than paper. I have made some cute lavender bags, I stamped a butterfly image on some cotton material, coloured using V15, FRV1 and YR16, then stitched the material to make little bags, threaded with ribbon and filled with lavender that I have dried from the garden.

A close up of one of the bags, these smell beautiful and can be used in drawers or hung or door handles etc. Would make gorgeous little gifts.

Last week I coloured on tissue paper and ribbon and made a lantern, which you can see here, we really would love to see your creations. Sammi is offering a $16 voucher to spend at the Mad for Markers Store where you can buy all your copics and suitable papers. Keeping popping by the Mad for Markers blog to see what other wonderful creations the DT girls come up with.

Thanks for visiting, happy crafting, take care AnnetteX:)

Geisha Anya copic coloured Tissue Paper Lantern

Hi all, where did the week go, got a little distracted in the garden, this weekend, so sorry if I haven't got to visit you all, still catching up.

At Mad for Markers our challenge for this fortnight is to copic colour something else, other than paper/card or as well as (hope that makes sense lol), got me thinking what to do and decided to have a go on tissue paper, haven't seen this done yet, now this was fun lol! A little bit of trial and error and this is what I came up with. Over at Creatalicious this month their challenge is an asian theme and I really liked the idea of creating a tea light lantern.

Anya Ink want you to use buttons and bows, so sourced my button tin and found these little beauties.
This is the back of the lantern I have used colours V15, V17, FV2 and YR23 to try and create a gold colour effect. I did try some chinese writing but gave that one up, ink spread too much.

For the side panels I cut smaller oval shapes so the the main of the light would shine through the Geisha Anya panel. SU Cardstock is Orchid Opulence and YoYo Yellow.
The ribbons are from my stash, the flower ribbon around the base I used the YR23 marker and coloured the centres of the flowers.

This is the front again with the the tea light lit.

Don't forget to check the Mad for Markers Blog each day of the week during this challenge as our talented DT will be demonstrating other items that can be coloured with Copics, also check Kylie's tutorial for tips on colouring embellishments. There is a wonderful prize of $16 to spend in the Mad for Markers Store and the winner also gets to be Guest Designer for the next challenge, looking forward to seeing you there. Don't for Sammi is shipping Copics to New Zealand as well as Australia.

My First Tent card

Hi all,

Thought I would have a go at a tent card, I have just made my first tutorial on colouring snow for Mad for Markers and this cutie is the result and I just pictured him in my head peering through a snowflake, had help here Rosanna she got her origami out for me and I traced around one of her snowflakes and then cut it out. I have heated embossed the snow/snowflakes using my SU Stamp Set (one of my favs) onto SU elegant eggpant card. I did try putting some embossed snowflakes on and ribbon but it looked too much so stuck with a metal plate that says ho ho ho and snowflake charm. I have used a heart shape eyelet to hang him from.
There is special effects for the bells, eyes and nose. For ear muffs and fur trim I have used Crushed Velvet Lilac Flock. I have distressed around the edge of the snowflake to try to make it look fluffy.

Snow Tutorial for Mad for Markers

Hi all, this is my first tutorial ever an it is for Mad for Markers, firstly I am not Copic Certified, this is just how I love to colour snow images! Copic colours needed are C1, C3 & BG10 (available from Sammi at Mad for Markers Store.

Is this just the cutest snowman from Magnolia, stamped using Momento Ink

First I use C3 to colour shaded, creased areas or where I feel the light would highlight the snow. This is only a very thin line or lightly touching to dot the area.

Secondly I use C1 and lightly feather blend or dot where I have used C3, then I use the C1 to lightly colour odd places, this image is perfect as there are dots which give you a guideline where colour is needed.

Finally I use BG10 and lightly blend into the C1 & c3 to get this effect. I have TGF snowmen which are much smaller and found it better to only use the C1 and BG10.

Finally I coloured the rest of him, and this is how he looks. Added Special effects and some Crushed Velvet Lilac Flock to his ear muffs and fur trim

and made my first ever tent card, I heat embossed the snowflakes, cardstock is elegant eggplant
I don't feel I have said to much lol! So please if I haven't explained something properly please le me know.

Copics Used (available from Mad for Markers)
C1, C3, BG10
G28, E99, FV2, R89, V12, V17, YG67, YR04, YR23, YR31

Thanks for visiting, be sure to pop back tommorow to see what gorgeous creation Emma has to show you and each day to see our other DT's amazing creations.
