Geisha Anya copic coloured Tissue Paper Lantern

Hi all, where did the week go, got a little distracted in the garden, this weekend, so sorry if I haven't got to visit you all, still catching up.

At Mad for Markers our challenge for this fortnight is to copic colour something else, other than paper/card or as well as (hope that makes sense lol), got me thinking what to do and decided to have a go on tissue paper, haven't seen this done yet, now this was fun lol! A little bit of trial and error and this is what I came up with. Over at Creatalicious this month their challenge is an asian theme and I really liked the idea of creating a tea light lantern.

Anya Ink want you to use buttons and bows, so sourced my button tin and found these little beauties.
This is the back of the lantern I have used colours V15, V17, FV2 and YR23 to try and create a gold colour effect. I did try some chinese writing but gave that one up, ink spread too much.

For the side panels I cut smaller oval shapes so the the main of the light would shine through the Geisha Anya panel. SU Cardstock is Orchid Opulence and YoYo Yellow.
The ribbons are from my stash, the flower ribbon around the base I used the YR23 marker and coloured the centres of the flowers.

This is the front again with the the tea light lit.

Don't forget to check the Mad for Markers Blog each day of the week during this challenge as our talented DT will be demonstrating other items that can be coloured with Copics, also check Kylie's tutorial for tips on colouring embellishments. There is a wonderful prize of $16 to spend in the Mad for Markers Store and the winner also gets to be Guest Designer for the next challenge, looking forward to seeing you there. Don't for Sammi is shipping Copics to New Zealand as well as Australia.
